| Abstract: | The article outlines signs of the end of the recession. The real annual rate of economic growth is forecasted in the fourth quarter of 2009 and during 2010. Also indicated are the increase in the number of American volunteers, decline in air pollution, rebound of the Dow average, drop in alcohol-related traffic fatalities, the plan of firms to reinstate their 401(k) plans, and rise in U.S. exports to China. Other signs include the increase in men's contribution to housework, reduction in energy usage by 2030, and increased productivity of U.S. workers. |
