Abstract: We report analytical and numerical calculations for the problem of optical injection composed of an optical comb of several lines into a semiconductor laser. We analyze the conditions and the regions over which the approximations in the perturbations calculations are valid. We compare the results of the analytic computations with the recent experiments carried out to show the amplification of the comb frequency components for various injection ratios and detunings. We find that the locked region depends on the value of the frequency comb separation relative to the value of injection and detuning and identify three regions over which the behavior of the amplification is unique.
