Title: QUW Multiparadigm Parallel Acceleration for Reservoir Simulation.
Authors: Fung, Larry S. K.1, Sindi, Mohammad O.1, Dogru, Ali H.2
Source: SPE Journal. Aug2014, Vol. 19 Issue 4, p716-725. 10p.
Subjects: Multiparadigm programming (Computer science), Multiprocessors, Computer programming, Petroleum reserves, Simulation methods & models
Abstract: The article compares and contrasts the single-paradigm programming models message- passing interface and open multiprocessing (MPI or OMP) with the mixed paradigm programming models that are suited for the different modes of parallelism in oil reservoir simulation. Topics include the distributed memory model having superior multi computenode scalability, shared memory model having superior parallel performance on a single compute node, and the mixed MPI-OMP model more memory efficient.
