Abstract: The use of the thermal imaging method for active nondestructive evaluation of subsurface defects of articles is examined. The scale factors for converting the values of defect size from pixels to length units are estimated. The effect of size and depth of a defect on the distribution of heat along the surface is analyzed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
