| Abstract: | The physical and mechanical processes occurring in breaking rock in the required direction with the application of insert plates in a blast hole with nonexplosive breaking compositions (NBC) are studied theoretically in detail. Crack nucleation in the chosen direction in the borehole with insert plates with application of NBC is studied using the failure ellipse of rock for a plane problem and the third failure criterion. Graphs for determination of technological parameters such as the angle _of the insert plate at which the crack is at an angle _ to the minor axis of the failure ellipse of rock and the pressure depending on the desired crack direction are plotted. This enables the imporvement of the technology of stone mining and breaking of coal pillars by the blast-hole method with application of the insert plates and NBC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
