Abstract: The motion of an ion bunch trapped between two electrostatic mirrors in an ion trap resonator has been studied. Under certain conditions the ion motion becomes correlated and either synchronization of the ion motion or enhanced diffusion occurs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
