The article scrutinizes the impact of European artificial intelligence regulations on recommender systems. The compliance of recommender systems with the European Union Charter of Fundamental Human Rights is debated along with the fairness of recommender systems. Strategies to mitigate alleged bias and preserve user security and privacy in recommender systems are presented. |
