Abstract: The frequency estimation made using standard techniques such as the Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) does not lead to accurate results, especially for short signals. To overcome this problem, numerous interpolation methods are proposed, the simplest being the so-called interpolation methods. Among these interpolation methods, Jacobsen proposes the most reliable. However, the results obtained when applying the Jacobsen algorithm overestimate the frequencies. In this paper, we propose a technique to improve the algorithm proposed by Jacobsen. The improvement is made by withdrawing the systematic errors that occurred when using the fractional correction coefficient proposed by Jacobsen. We demonstrated with numerical examples the improvement achieved by applying the proposed correction technique. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
