Keywords: ; ; ; ; Eri silk; knitting; single jersey; thermal comfort properties ZH EN Eri silk knitting single jersey thermal comfort properties 9052 9063 12 11/21/22 20221220 NES 221220 Introduction The physical and thermal comfort performance of knitted fabrics can be improved by suitable selection of fiber, spinning method, linear density of the yarn, twist in the yarn, yarn-porosity, stitch length, and fabric structure (Anand and Yanmaz [2]; Parmar [14]). Tight fabric structural forms show higher bursting strength to the extent of 5.35% to 9.26% than slack fabric structural forms in all the three Eri silk knit structures, which is graphically represented in Figure 6. Eri/wool blended fabric possessed high thermal insulation, strength, low fabric shrinkage, and good surface characteristic than pure wool fabric (DeSubir and Ashis [5]). An average of 7% higher fabric abrasive loss is observed with the Eri silk slack structural fabric than the tight structural fabrics, which is graphically depicted in Figure 7.
