Abstract: The article discusses the potential benefits of ultra-high-resolution photon-counting CT (UHR-PCCT) for imaging the lungs. UHR-PCCT has been shown to improve the visualization of lung structures and pathologies compared to conventional high-resolution CT (HRCT), while also reducing radiation dose. A recent study compared the image quality of UHR-PCCT and HRCT and found that UHR-PCCT showed superior visibility for most tested structures. However, there was no significant impact on diagnostic interpretation between the two techniques. The study suggests that UHR-PCCT should be adopted in clinical practice for lung imaging, but further research is needed to fully explore its potential benefits. [Extracted from the article]
