| Abstract: | This article focuses on a study of the strains developed in two post-tensioned prestressed concrete box girder bridges, both during their construction and subsequent service lives. The performance of two precast segmental concrete viaducts, the Cogan Viaduct and the Grangetown Viaduct, was studied. The Cogan Viaduct has three spans of 60 m, a main span of 95 m and two end spans of 37.5 m and 57.5 m, and its design was further complicated by the tight radius of curvature of only 285 m which had to be used for some of the approach spans. |
