| Abstract (English): | The risk assessments carried out to date, and the implementation of controls are only sometimes effective due to their lack of specificity. Therefore, this work aimed to develop a specific method to evaluate the probability and consequences of shock and electric arc hazards, adding a variable that considers the personal factor. The equation was formulated using the methods recommended by ISO 31010 for probability and consequence, including the human reliability of the same standard. The recommendations of the NFPA 70E standard were used to define the criteria for each variable. For the inclusion of controls, the principles of the Bow Tie method recommended in the ISO 31010 standard were used since the proposed matrix considered preventive, mitigating, and personal controls separately. The proposed method was evaluated and validated, which demonstrated the usefulness of the model since it allowed to assess the electrical risks with specific criteria, including the personal factor variable and the application of the proposed controls to reduce said risks, which that will directly benefit exposed workers and companies that use it. | Abstract (Spanish): | Las evaluaciones de riesgos que se han realizado hasta la actualidad y la implementación de controles no siempre son efectivas por lo poco específicas que son. Es por esto, que la finalidad de este trabajo fue desarrollar un método específico para evaluar la probabilidad y las consecuencias para los riesgos de choque y arco eléctrico, agregando una variable adicional que considera el factor personal. Para formular la ecuación, se utilizaron los métodos recomendados por la ISO 31010 de probabilidad y consecuencia, incluyendo la fiabilidad humana de la misma norma. Para definir los criterios de cada variable, se utilizó las recomendaciones de la norma NFPA 70E. Para incluir los controles, se utilizaron los principios del método Bow Tie, recomendado en la norma ISO 31010, pues la matriz que se propuso consideró los controles preventivos, mitigatorios y al factor personal por separado. El método propuesto fue evaluado, validado y demostró la utilidad, ya que, permitió evaluar de forma objetiva los riesgos eléctricos con criterios específicos, incluida la variable del factor personal y la aplicación de los controles propuestos para reducir dichos riesgos, lo que beneficiará directamente a los trabajadores expuestos y a las empresas que lo utilicen.
