Abstract: To overcome the shortcomings of traditional scattering evaluation methods in near-field scattering prediction, a novel fast scattering calculation algorithm suitable for a near-field region is proposed in this paper. Based on physical optics, combined with locally modified approximate Green's function, the integral expressions of near-field electromagnetic scattering radiated by a plane wave and a dipole source are derived in a frequency domain. The simulation results show that the modified algorithm not only retains the simplicity and efficiency of the traditional code, but also can be directly used for near-field scattering prediction.
