| Abstract: | This document is a reply to a letter to the editor regarding a study on liver stiffness by two-dimensional shear wave elastography for screening high-risk varices in patients with compensated advanced chronic liver disease. The authors clarify that they defined patients with liver stiffness values measured by 2D-SWE < 8 kPa to rule out compensated advanced chronic liver disease. They also discuss the diagnosis of Porto-sinusoidal vascular disorder (PSVD) and its association with lower liver stiffness values compared to cirrhosis. The authors state that their work has not received any funding and declare no conflicts of interest. [Extracted from the article] |
