Rubin Observatory, located in Chile, will use a car-size 3,200-megapixel digital camera to produce a new map of the entire night sky every three days, generating 20 terabytes of data per night. This observatory will capture fine details about the solar system, the Milky Way, and the large-scale structure of the cosmos, helping researchers understand dark matter and dark energy.
