Abstract (English): Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a comprehensive process of anticipating, evaluating and addressing the ecological, social and other relevant consequences arising from the development of a project, prior to the implementation of crucial decisions and commitments.. It involves the measurement and evaluation of the impact of human activities or lack thereof on various aspects of the environment, carried out during the initial planning stages. The EIA process is carried out to identify, anticipate and evaluate the possible environmental consequences of a proposed project or undertaking. Its objective is to ensure that the decision-making process considers environmental impacts and that appropriate measures are implemented to alleviate or prevent these impacts. The purpose of this study delimits the environmental impact assessment for palm oil crops in the Colombian Northeast, in order to identify, through the criteria proposed by the RSPO 2018 standard, the control mechanisms and positive impacts proposed by this reference to guarantee the sustainability of this agricultural subsector in Northeast Colombia. The research is based on a qualitative, descriptive approach. The methodology used is based on Vicente Conesa's proposal, which allows the environmental factors involved to be precisely identified and the associated impacts to be projected. The comprehensive environmental assessment presented in this correlation analysis exercise, which focuses on the RSPO 2018 criteria and its theory of change, serves as a reliable basis for informed decision-making and the implementation of sustainable practices in the cultivation of Oil palm. It offers a long-term perspective on the respectful adaptation of the crop to environmental characteristics, providing valuable information on potential results at different stages of the planting project and allowing predictive decision-making. Abstract (Spanish): La Evaluación de Impacto Ambiental (EIA) es un proceso integral de anticipar, evaluar y abordar las consecuencias ecológicas, sociales y otras consecuencias pertinentes que surgen del desarrollo de un proyecto, antes de la implementación de decisiones y compromisos cruciales.. Implica la medición y evaluación del impacto de las actividades humanas o la ausencia de estas en diversos aspectos del medio ambiente, realizada durante las etapas iniciales de planificación. El proceso de EIA se lleva a cabo para identificar, anticipar y evaluar las posibles consecuencias ambientales de un proyecto o emprendimiento propuesto. Su objetivo es garantizar que el proceso de toma de decisiones considere los impactos ambientales y que se implementen las medidas adecuadas para aliviar o prevenir estos impactos. El propósito de este estudio delimita la evaluación de impacto ambiental para los cultivos de Aceite de palma en el Nororiente colombiano, a fin de identificar mediante los criterios que propone el estándar RSPO 2018 los mecanismos de control e impactos positivos que propone este referencial para garantizar la sostenibilidad de este subsector agrícola en el Nororiente Colombiano. La investigación se basa en un enfoque cualitativo, de tipo descriptivo. La metodología utilizada se fundamenta en la propuesta de Vicente Conesa, que permite identificar con precisión los factores ambientales intervenidos y proyectar los impactos asociados. La evaluación ambiental integral presentada en este ejercicio de análisis de correlación, que se centra en los criterios de la RSPO 2018 y su teoría del cambio, sirve como una base confiable para la toma de decisiones informada y la implementación de prácticas sostenibles en el cultivo de palma aceitera. Ofrece una perspectiva a largo plazo sobre la adaptación respetuosa del cultivo a las características ambientales, proporcionando información valiosa sobre los resultados potenciales en diferentes etapas del proyecto de plantación y permitiendo la toma de decisiones predictivas.
