Abstract: Studies of the critical twist of textile threads and yarn is one of the main directions of technology development for producing them from new materials. The twist at which a single twisted thread has a large breaking load is considered critical. According to published experimental data, the critical twist depends largely on the mechanical properties and geometric parameters of threads. Aluminum- oxide ceramic threads are a new product for the domestic textile industry. Therefore, the mechanical properties of twisted aluminum-oxide ceramic threads were experimentally determined over a large range of twisting during development of their production technology. The present article studied the twist parameters providing the maximum breaking load of domestically produced aluminum-oxide single threads. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
