Abstract: Molybdenum oxides of the form AMoO 4 are increasingly utilized in scientific and technological domains due to their affordability, durability, low toxicity, high thermal and chemical stability, and strong photoluminescence and fluorescent properties. Their performance is closely linked to their crystal structure. In this study, selective AMoO 4 (A = Ba, Sr, Ca, Zn, Cu and Mg) ceramics were synthesized through solid-state reaction method. Structural analyses via X-ray diffraction with Rietveld refinement, Fourier-transform infrared and Raman spectroscopy confirmed distinct crystal structures: scheelite tetragonal for SrMoO 4 , BaMoO 4 and CaMoO 4 ; wolframite triclinic for ZnMoO 4 and CuMoO 4 ; and monoclinic for MgMoO 4 ceramic. Additionally, Normalized X-ray Absorption Near Edge Structure spectra at the Mo K-edge provided insights into the oxidation states and local symmetry around molybdenum atoms. The Extended X-ray Absorption Fine Structure analysis at both the Mo K-edge and the respective A absorption edges revealed detailed information about local atomic environments and bond lengths corresponding to various coordination numbers for each AMoO 4 ceramic. The consistency across all structural investigations underscores the reliability of these findings, enhancing our understanding of molybdenum oxides' structural properties. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
