| Abstract: | This research outlines the establishment of an efficient co-precipitation method for synthesizing Sr2Bi2O5-laponite heterojunction materials, accomplished by optimizing the ratio of Sr2Bi2O5 to laponite. The subsequent enhancement of the optimal Sr2Bi2O5-laponite binary material was achieved through the incorporation of Ag nanoparticles, leading to the development of the Ag-Sr2Bi2O5-laponite composite material. Characterization of the composite material was conducted by various techniques. The Ag-Sr2Bi2O5-laponite nanocomposite demonstrated exceptional photocatalytic activity under visible light, effectively facilitating the degradation of methylene blue dye pollutant. The characteristics of these properties were markedly more advanced compared to those of Sr2Bi2O5, exhibiting a superiority of 2.20 times, and Sr2Bi2O5-laponite, which demonstrated a superiority of 4.90 times. The research also investigated how different factors, such as the composite dosage, methylene blue dye concentration, and solution pH, influenced photocatalytic activity. The proposed degradation pathways of methylene blue are outlined, and the anticipated ecotoxicity of the resultant byproducts, as assessed by EOCSAR, may offer comprehensive insights into the environmental fates and associated risks of MB. This work can lead a way for manufacturing innovation in future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
