| Abstract: |
In recent years, coordination polymers (CPs) consisting of metal ions or metal clusters with organic ligands through coordination interactions have had found numerous applications, especially in the field of fluorescent sensing due to their operational simplicity and cost-effectiveness. Vitamins are essential micronutrients required for maintaining normal physiological functions, while different vitamins play distinct roles in human health, excessive intake may lead to toxicity and adverse effects. Therefore, the design and synthesis of CPs specifically for fluorescent vitamin detection has become an urgent research priority. In this review, we summarize recent advances in CP-based fluorescent sensors for vitamin detection from research groups worldwide. We believe this comprehensive overview will inspire the design and synthesis of novel CPs capable of detecting more vitamins, advancing both fundamental research and practical applications in nutrition and health monitoring. [Display omitted] • The review highlights the use of various metal centers in coordination polymers for fluorescent vitamin sensing. • The review summarizes and categorizes the experimental mechanisms of quenching, turn-on, and ratiometric effects. • The review emphasizes the potential of CPs in precision nutrition, food safety, and medical diagnostics.
