| Abstract: | In the present world dominated by technology, big data offers endless opportunities to the sports industry to update the teams' performance and meet business goals that would be otherwise unachievable. Hence, many institutions are investing heavily in data science and analytics to improve decision-making. This study aims to clarify the role of big data in the sports industry and demonstrate how it can optimize the athlete’s performance and benefit some business areas of sports management.
