Abstract: This paper presents a novel approach for computing the radiation pattern of asymmetric E-plane horn antennas. In conventional horn antennas, it is well-known that the phase of the field at the aperture differs from that at the origin due to varied propagation distances from the apex to the aperture. A new phase difference resulting from the asymmetric structure of the antenna, influenced by the flare angle and dimensions of the horn, is derived in this paper. The radiated field is then computed based on this phase difference using cosine and sine Fresnel integrals. Furthermore, our methodology is validated by demonstrating agreement between the computed E-plane patterns of the horn antenna and simulation results obtained using CST. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
