| Abstract: | During the aging and rejuvenation process of asphalt binder, the proportion of the catana phase in the bee structure on its appearance will change, and the influence of this change on the mechanical performances of the asphalt binder needs to be further investigated. Therefore, a two-dimensional finite element model of the bee structure is constructed on account of the processed AFM images of asphalt binder. The stress and strain distribution law about asphalt binder microstructure was investigated by comparing and analyzing the results of simulation calculations. The results of the study show that the stress in the catana phase of asphalt binder appearance is significantly larger than that in the peri phase, the internal stress in the para phase is the lowest. The catana phase exhibits the least tensile strain due to the fact that it has the largest modulus of elasticity, whereas the tensile strain within the asphalt binder is mainly concentrated in the para phase.
