| Abstract (English): | The architect and engineer László Dobosi Szabó, a graduate in Budapest and a student at the Bauhaus school, arrived in Argentina in 1948 from his native Hungary at the end of the Second World War. His works in the country ranged from painting landscapes, nudes and portraits, to the design of altars, stained glass windows and complete buildings for various churches in the city and province of Buenos Aires. His architectural projects, combined with his works of mural mosaic and altarpieces, highlighted him in the panorama of great changes and profound transformations that the Church was going through around the Second Vatican Council. Through research in personal and institutional archives and family interviews, this article discovers the personality and almost unknown work of this pioneer in the paths of renewal and dialogue of the Church with the art world in Argentina.
