Abstract: This work presents a deterministic inventory model for perishable commodities, characterized by a linearly increasing deterioration rate over time, with demand affected by selling price and advertising expenditure. Shortages are permitted and are somewhat delayed, with the delay rate contingent upon the waiting period until the subsequent replenishment. The holding cost is constant. The model seeks to reduce the overall inventory expenditure. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the model's efficacy, and a sensitivity analysis is examined to evaluate the effects of changing the parameters. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
