Abstract: The present study focuses on performance analysis of a Compression Ignition (CI) engine, fuelled with ethanol at three different injection timings (20°, 23° and 26°bTDC). Experiments are carried out on a single cylinder constant speed direct injection diesel engine under various load circumstances. The obtained experimental data are used to analyse the performance analysis of the CI engine by using fuzzy prediction and response surface methodology (RSM) optimization. The predicted fuzzy model and RSM results offered the average correlation coefficient (R) of 0.9876 and the average coefficient of a determination (R2) of 0.9227 correspondingly.
