| Abstract: | The article focuses on the integration of agentic artificial intelligence (AI) with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to enhance the systematic development of complex software-intensive systems. Agentic AI refers to autonomous AI systems capable of goal-driven, multi-step tasks, potentially acting as co-developers in software projects by participating in modeling, design negotiation, and traceability maintenance. The authors propose a new paradigm called AI-hyper-agile software engineering (AHASE), where AI agents follow established MBSE methodologies to produce explainable, consistent, and verifiable artifacts while collaborating with human engineers. This approach envisions AI agents as intelligent intermediaries that simplify tool usage, guide development processes, and support methodological governance, raising questions about adapting current modeling tools and workflows to be "agent-ready."
