| Abstract: | Antiferromagnetic (AFM) materials may advance spintronic and magnonic technologies beyond the limits of conventional ferromagnets (FMs). AFMs are less susceptible to stray fields, resistant to magnetic perturbations, and host intrinsic spin dynamics in the terahertz regime, promising for ultrahigh density and ultrafast devices. However, in collinear AFMs with compensated spin structure it is difficult to detect and manipulate the Néel vector. The non-collinear AFMs provide a route to overcome these challenges and allow new types of spin transport and control. Recent experiments in non-collinear antiferromagnetic orthoferrites (e.g., LuFeO 3) uncovered new and novel phenomena including the vector spin Seebeck effect , and the spin swapping effect that enable multidirectional propagation and reorientation of pure spin currents. These effects, absent in collinear FMs and AFMs, permit simultaneous lateral and vertical spin flow, bridging the otherwise isolated spintronic units. Such multidimensional spin transport establishes a foundation for reconfigurable three-dimensional spin current networks. This perspective discusses the spin transport, principles, and prospects of insulating non-collinear AFMs, emphasizing their unique utility as lateral spin transport media that connects various vertical spintronic units along the lateral spin channel, a feat that collinear insulating FMs and AFMs fail. • Non-collinear antiferromagnets enable multidirectional spin transport. • Vector spin Seebeck effect allows spin flow in any direction. • Spin swapping effect diverts spin flow between lateral and vertical channels. • Non-collinear AFMs (e.g., rare-earth ferrites) can be switched with modest fields.
