Abstract: In the fast growing age of digitalization, computing systems are widely used to control the machines. Generally, the computing system is an organized collection of hardware and software to perform a particular task. The computing system can stop the function when hardware failed or software failed. Therefore, a stochastic model is developed using preventive maintenance to increase its performance. It is maintained by the technician when its hardware or software failed, and preference is given to the hardware repair before software upgradation. Here, the hardware failure time, software failure time, hardware repair time, software upgradation time, preventive maintenance request time and preventive maintenance time follow general distributions. Graphs threw light on the reliability measures of computing system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
