Abstract: This paper introduces the design and construction process of a 55-meter-high observation tower in the Hantangang River area of Cheorwon. The tower's hyperboloid form was chosen to harmonize with the surrounding environment, and a steel-cable net structural system was adopted to maximize views from both the upper and lower floors while creating a dynamic appearance. Thirty-two net cables resist lateral loads, and six observation floors allow visitors to take in the scenery at various heights. Close collaboration between architects and structural engineers ensured both structural stability and aesthetic appeal. During construction, the focus was on on-site assembly of steel members, cable tensioning, and displacement control. After completion, vibration measurements were conducted to explore ways of minimizing user discomfort. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
