| Abstract: | Building regulations in Portugal are fragmented across various legal instruments (codes, laws, decree‐laws, municipal regulations, etc.), hindering consultation and understanding for both professionals and researchers. This paper proposes a hierarchical organization methodology, grouping the main legal statutes and technical standards into major thematic clusters to facilitate research and practical application. Based on a comprehensive review, the content was structured into progressive levels (ranging from general provisions to technical specifications), demonstrating the utility of this model for databases or information systems. Finally, this organization was applied to a hypothetical case study to validate its future use. This structure is expected to contribute to the development of a database for an Automated Code Checking system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
