Abstract: This research focuses on examining the effect of using Buton rock asphalt (BRA) full extraction and polymer modified bitumen to improve the performance of the porous asphalt. Porous asphalt performance is measured through void in mixture (VIM), Cantabro Abrasion Loss, Asphalt Draindown, Marshall stability, Resilient Modulus, Indirect Tensile Fatigue Test (ITFT), rutting resistance, and permeability. Based on the results, shown that porous asphalt with BRA extraction has lower abrasion resistance and dynamic stability. In addition, porous asphalt with BRA extraction has higher stiffness modulus of the mixture, which improves the fatigue resistance of porous asphalt. Based on the results of VIM, permeability, and Marshall stability tests, the two porous asphalt mixtures do not have significant differences, where for VIM values of these two mixtures around 20%, permeability around 330 m/day, and Marshall stability around 550 kg. Generally, porous asphalt with BRA extraction resulted in better structural performance than porous asphalt with polymer modified bitumen. The Marshal stability test results of porous asphalt mixtures show that these mixtures cannot be used as structural layer. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
