| Abstract (English): | The investigation was carried out in the quarry "The Cocoa" belonging to the Company of Materials for the Construction, the one that extracts limestones for the production of products like macadam, concrete, gravilla, granite, sand, stone powder and carbonate of calcium (marmolita). The objective of the work is to identify the main environmental affectations in the area for the exploitation of the quarry. Reason why the womb of Conesa is used for the evaluation of impacts. It was identified that the quarry carries out mining to sky opened up by what causes negative impacts in the health, as breathing, cardiovascular illnesses and cancer. It can also affect to the agriculture, the cattle raising and the ecosystems. The silica, the carbonate of calcium, the oxides of sulfur, as well as the oils, fatty, and solvents are the chemical pollutants that exist in the quarry "The Cocoa" due to the marble extraction, what allowed to determine the negative effects for the health of workers and residents that inhabit near this. 40 % of the impacts that are generated by the mining exploitation is qualified as severe, what means that the affectation demands the recovery of the conditions of the means through having measured proofreaders or protectors and the necessary time of recovery is a lingering period. They intend measures to mitigate the environmental contamination which are guided to the protection to the floor, to the superficial and underground water, to the atmosphere, to the flora, to the fauna, to the population and the landscape. | Abstract (Spanish): | La investigación se realizó en la cantera "El Cacao" perteneciente a la Empresa de Materiales para la Construcción, la que extrae calizas para la producción de productos como macadam, hormigón, gravilla, granito, arena, polvo de piedra y carbonato de calcio (marmolita). El objetivo del trabajo es identificar las principales afectaciones ambientales en la zona por la explotación de la cantera. Para esto, se emplea la matriz de Conesa para la evaluación de impactos. Se identificó que la cantera realiza minería a cielo abierto por lo que provoca impactos negativos en la salud, como enfermedades respiratorias, cardiovasculares y cáncer. También puede afectar a la agricultura, la ganadería y los ecosistemas. La sílice, el carbonato de calcio, los óxidos de azufre, así como los aceites, grasas, y disolventes son los contaminantes químicos que existen en la cantera "El Cacao" debido a la extracción de mármol, lo que permitió determinar los efectos negativos para la salud de trabajadores y pobladores que habitan cerca de esta. El 40 % de los impactos que se generan por la explotación minera se califica como severo, lo que significa que la afectación exige la recuperación de las condiciones del medio a través de medidas correctoras o protectoras y el tiempo de recuperación necesario es un periodo prolongado. Se proponen medidas para mitigar la contaminación ambiental las cuales están encaminadas a la protección al suelo, al agua superficial y subterránea, a la atmósfera a la flora, a la fauna, a la población y al paisaje.
