| Abstract: |
The article presents a comprehensive review on polyolefin cyclizations, illustrated as a case study in biomimetic total synthesis. The author has discussed how his research contributed to the development of synthetic methods that converge upon the efficient techniques of nature. He has however conceded that intriguing new questions about these transformations remain, thereby stimulating questions on biosynthesis mechanisms and synthesis possibilities. He has likewise emphasized the need to clearly understand their mutual benefits. |
