Abstract: Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is a critical technology for ensuring the safe operation of industrial equipment. Conventional methods such as magnetic particle inspection and eddy current testing suffer from limitations including low detection efficiency and difficulty in quantitative analysis. In contrast, Magneto-Optical Imaging (MOI) technology enables direct observation of magnetic field distributions via magneto-optical(MO) sensors, achieving visual characterization of defects. MOI is an advanced NDT technique based on Faraday MO effect, which offers advantages such as high resolution, real-time imaging, and non-contact detection. In recent years, this technology has demonstrated broad application prospects in material defect detection, stress distribution analysis, and structural health monitoring. This paper systematically reviews the fundamental principles, key technologies, and typical applications of MOI in NDT, while also discussing current research challenges and future development trends.
