| Abstract: | The composition and configuration of supercapacitor (SC) electrodes may be expertly tailored to provide high-performance, durability and efficient energy storage. Thus, a low-cost hydrothermal technique was utilised to prepare an AlFeO 3 /PANI nanocomposite electrode material for supercapacitor performance. Utilising different physical characterisations, its morphology, functionality, composition, and thermal stability were ascertained. The generated electrode sample's electrochemical behaviour is estimated via galvanostatic charge-discharge, cyclic voltammetry, as well as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Electrochemical results unveiled that AlFeO 3 /PANI has a specific capacitance (C s) of 510.4 F/g at a current density (j d) of 1 A/g, compared to 193.0 F/g of bare AlFeO 3. Moreover, an asymmetric configuration of AlFeO 3 /PANI//AC (activated carbon) was utilised to investigate the full device's performance. The ASC showed a C s value of 110 F/g, power density (P d) of 700 W/kg, with energy density (E d) of 29.9 Wh/kg at 1 A/g. EIS plot indicates that ASC has a lower solution resistance of 0.2 Ω. The use of PANI improves discharge duration and enhances the performance of AlFeO 3 materials. The AlFeO 3 /PANI electrode offers notable energy storage capability and is easy to fabricate, making it suitable for SC applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
