Abstract: It is well known that global plastic waste crisis requires an innovative solution. Landfilling, incineration and recycling technologies for managing plastic waste have their limitations. In such situations, pyrolysis technology for plastic waste management has emerged as a promising technology because it has less environmental impact and greater flexibility in handling waste plastics. Pyrolysis is the process of the thermal degradation of long-chain polymers to simpler and less complex compounds. This technique requires a lot of heat for a short time under anaerobic conditions. Pyrolysis technologies are expensive. But it is anticipated that with suitable catalysts, valuable oils and char, respectively, for energy recovery and soil amendment can be produced. Reactors for pyrolysis should be very efficient. Modularization of reactors is one of the solutions for achieving the production of oil economically. But still challenging as modularized solutions are new and have not yet been implemented on a large scale. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
