Abstract: This paper studies the birth data from the Indonesia Demographic and Health Survey. The focus is on the women's birth intervals between the first and second births, and on explanatory variables including the age of women at first birth, total children ever born, number of dead children, Education level of women, household wealth, residence type, and geographical location. The survival analysis methods Kaplan-Meier, Cox Proportional Hazards, and Stratified Cox are used to analyze birth interval data subject to right censoring. The cohort of women was divided into three groups based on the women's birth years, i.e., 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. These studies were used to examine whether women's intergenerational relationships exhibit a distinct characteristic. Due to truncation, the results for women are contrary to common sense. We found that the younger cohort of women gives birth more frequently than the older cohort. Compared to the Cox PH, the Stratified Cox based on a Geographic pattern performs better.
