| Abstract: | A metasurface-inspired dual-band THz sensor was investigated for the detection of biological cells. This sensor consists of a periodic array of hollow cylindrical silver microresonators formed over SiO2 substrate. The findings reveal a dual-band near-perfect absorption at 4.519 THz and 4.841 THz frequencies, accompanied by the respective significantly high quality factors of 397 and 418. Apart from this, the metamaterial exhibits considerable sensitivity and robustness – the features that determine potential for biomedical applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
