| Abstract: | The current work aims to design polyvinyl chloride (PVC)/polyethylene oxide (PEO)/x wt% NiWO4 blended polymers to utilize in various optoelectronic purposes. The structure and morphology of the formed samples were observed by means of the X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy devices. The absorbance increased when the blended polymer was filled with nano NiWO4. The least direct and indirect optical band gap energy values (3.17, 2.46 eV) were recorded when the filler quantity attained 9 wt% in the polymer matrix, respectively. In the visible area, the refractive index values rose in proportion to the amount of NiWO4 doping in the undoped sample. In the visible range, the sample with 9 wt% NiWO4 exhibited the greatest εr and nonlinear optical parameter values. Several mathematical models propose to explain the link between the refractive index and the obtained optical energy bandgap. The mean refractive indices for the pure PVC/PEO polymeric matrix were 2.019 and 2.123, but for the loaded blended polymer containing 9 wt% NiWO4, the values increased to 2.155 and 2.618, corresponding to the direct and indirect Eg values, respectively. The samples exhibited changeable intensities of violet–violet, blue, and violet colors under excitation wavelengths of 320, 380 and 435 nm, respectively, depending on the quantity of dopant involved in the blends.
