| Abstract: | This article discusses some of the causes of color defects in solventborne paints and suggests methods for minimizing and/or eliminating them. There are a variety of sources for these kind of defects. Pigment stabilization is an important step in the paint-making process. A discussion of the role of solvents in stabilizing dispersion of pigments in a coating system is discussed. A thorough dispersion step to minimize defects is described. |
