| Abstract: | Key Points: Medical journal editors commonly have widespread financial relationships with pharmaceutical or device companies, which may unconsciously influence the whole manuscript processing. The transparency and comprehensiveness of editor's public COI disclosure is far less sufficient. It is important to clearly and comprehensively outline the COI disclosure requirements for editors and the editorial team.It is important for medical journals to establish a mandatory interest disclosure and recusal mechanism for dealing with the situations when the editors act as the coauthors.
