Abstract: In this study, a random copolymer material was synthesized as a starting material for the synthesis of axial polymeric phthalocyanine. A poly(ethyl 2-(hydroxymethyl)acrylate-co-styrene) random copolymer was successfully synthesized via the free-radical polymerization of ethyl 2-(hydroxymethyl)acrylate and styrene. This random copolymer material was axially bonded to silicon phthalocyanine as a substituent. The random copolymer material, which is white, took on the color of blue phthalocyanine. The synthesized products were characterized using multiple instruments such as 1H-NMR, FT-IR, GPC, DSC, and UV-vis. The electronic and singlet oxygen production capacity of the axial random copolymer was investigated. In addition, the synthesized (2) substance was used as an ionophore in the structure of a potentiometric sensor developed for the determination of dapoxetine used in the treatment of premature ejaculation. The dapoxetine-selective sensor exhibited excellent performance, including a wide linear working range (1.0 × 10⁻² M − 1.0 × 10⁻⁶ M), low detection limit (6.5 × 10⁻7 M), high selectivity, a wide pH working range (2.27–8.10), and a short response time (10 s). The sensor was successfully applied in the pharmaceutical preparation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
