Abstract: Pre‐Phase‐A studies represent the initial stage in the development of a new space mission. Its primary objective is to derive high‐level requirements from user needs, explore feasible system architecture concepts, and compile the necessary information for management to assess mission feasibility before committing to subsequent project phases. Traditionally conducted by a small team of multidisciplinary specialists, this stage is a prime candidate for the application of Concurrent Systems Engineering methodologies. This paper reports on a remote, real‐time CSE demonstration conducted during the 2024 IAA Latin American Conference on Small Satellites. The exercise involved specialists from multiple organizations across Latin America, adapting the concurrent engineering process for a distributed, resource‐aware context. Consequently, the canonical Concurrent Design Facility approach was adapted to a fully remote setting, relying on commonplace collaborative tools rather than a dedicated physical facility, as typically performed in ESA/ESTEC. This paper therefore: (1) describes the adapted methodology and guidelines for remote CSE execution; (2) presents its application to a case study based on a Solar Orbiter‐type mission, detailing domain interactions and results; and (3) summarizes the derived methodology, key findings, and the value of CSE in enhancing Pre‐Phase‐A studies. The novelty of this work does not stem from proposing a new Concurrent Engineering methodology, rather from demonstrating the applicability of established CDF‐based practices under strong constraints: fully remote execution, limited resources, and a public, non‐scripted demonstration format.
