Abstract: The article discusses how librarians in small libraries can maximize their resources for providing high-quality readers' advisory services. Readers' advisory requires time and training to do well. A range of valuable readers' advisory tools are also available, but many of the best print and electronic resources may be cost-prohibitive for small libraries. A possible solution to the lack of time for face-to-face readers' advisory interactions is to expand the library's passive readers' advisory services. To increase readers' advisory services in the small public library, targeting staff is a requirement. Incorporating readers' advisory training into staff inservice days and staff meetings is also important.
