| Abstract: | The article reports on the settlement of the case involving the Bureau of Standards Director Allen V. Astin. The public issue came to an end when the Post Office Department cancelled the fraud order against the controversial battery additive AD-X2. The Secretary of Commerce Weeks announced the unconditional reinstatement of Allen V. Astin. Some portions of the statement are presented. The statement signified the complete capitulation on the issues which also aroused the emotions of some scientists. |
