| Abstract: | The article discusses the problems of the U.S. federal government relating to antiballistic missile (ABM) deployment, the proliferation of nuclear weapons, and the problems in Vietnam. According to the author, ABM deployment would have complicated effects on the course of arms race and are expected to be ineffective in all-out nuclear war. A problem for nuclear nonproliferation remains on convincing India and Sweden to renounce the option of acquiring nuclear weapons. The author adds that the war in Vietnam is also important in the discussion because of its nuclear implications. |
