| Abstract: | The cascadability of fibre-to-the-premises systems with remote repeaters using a recirculating loop is experimentally investigated. The system employs standard PON transceivers and is demonstrated for four stages with <0.5 dB power penalty. Moreover, the total timing jitter after four stages without clock recovery is shown to be within the IEEE 802.3ah EPON standard specification. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
