Abstract: Abstract: A thermodynamic treatment of field-driven magnetostructural phase transition in GdSiGe alloys is presented. Data from literature are described and discussed using a phenomenological equation of state. It is shown that the effect of magnetic field and hydrostatic pressure on the transition can be described by a single driving term consisting of a proper combination of . [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
