Abstract: The article suggests the use of a system analysis tool for piping system problems. It is stated that fluid piping analysis software makes it possible to simulate the operation of the total piping system. A case on how personnel at a cogeneration plant used commercially available fluid piping software to analyze the plant's auxiliary cooling water system operation is discussed. The software chosen stimulates the piping system's operation by calculating the balanced flow rates and pressures in every system pipeline.
